Poiano Apartments

Hotel Poiano has 160 modern and comfortable apartments built on the gentle slope of the hill and arranged in six separate buildings in three different architectural styles.
The complex has many different sports facilities: swimming pool (50 m x 25 m), six clay tennis courts (four with night-time lighting), American tennis school (Peter Burwash International), sauna, children’s playground, market, astro-turf five-a-side football pitch (40 m x 25 m), volleyball.
A minimarket and various entertainment activities are also available to guests.

While holidaying in the apartments, guests live in close contact with nature: palm trees, vineyards, colourful oleander bushes, tall cypress trees and olive trees give a pleasant feeling of tranquility.

The Poiano apartments reception desk is open from 8.00 to 12.00 and 15.00 to 19.00, to provide information and book tennis courts, breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the Hotel, as well as purchase tickets for operas and plays, excursions and fun parks (Gardaland and Canevaworld). Staff are fluent in the main European languages.

The "Minimarket" sells various kinds of fresh bread, Italian and foreign daily newspapers and magazines, local produce from our farm as well as “Poiano” wines and oil.

Poiano offers apartments located in six different buildings known as block A, block B-C-D, block E-F.
All these buildings offer a wide range of different apartment types:
· type A (two rooms): lounge with sofabed for two people, kitchenette, twin room, shower /WC.
· type B (three rooms): same as type A but with a further twin room - or bunk beds im block A - in addition.
· type C (four rooms): same as type B but with a further twin room - one bed room im building A has bunk beds - and two bathrooms.

This is the historical heart of the estate. The tower known as "Colombara" dates back to the early fourteenth century and beside it stands the rural building originally occupied by the tenant farmers working on the Poiano estate, with the adjacent stable and pigsty. Buzzards used to fly down to this area in the evenings from Rocca di Garda and the top of Monte Luppia, known as “Sengia”, to find food. Known in Italy as “poiane”, buzzards are very rare birds of prey and are now on the edge of extinction. The Poiano estate was apparently named after them.

These historic buildings were restored and extended at the beginning of the 1980s and created the first residential complex.

In 2003 the apartment floors, terraces and furnishings have been completely renovated. The furniture, curtains, bathroom accessories and pictures were chosen with particular care and attention. All the rooms are air conditioned.

Apartments in block B-C-D have been designed in a functional and modern style. They are available in different sizes to accommodate up to eight people.

The functional and spacious lounge, freshened every morning by the breeze from the lake ("vent de sotto").

The bedroom freshened every evening by a gentle wind from the mountains ("vent de sora").

Type A is a very spacious two room apartment accommodating two to four people. It consists of a lounge with a double sofabed, a fully equipped kitchenette, a double bedroom with twin beds and a shower/toilet.

Type B is a three room apartment accommodating four to six people. It consists of a lounge with a double sofabed, two bedrooms with twin beds and lake views, a fully equipped kitchenette and a spacious bathroom with shower.

Type C is the most spacious apartment available. It can accommodate up to eight people comfortably in the spacious lounge with a double sofabed and three bedrooms with twin beds. The apartment also has two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchenette.

This is a real mini village consisting of delightful, modern and extremely functional “country” style apartments built around a central square.

All the houses are painted in the lively red and yellow hues which are typical of the countryside around Garda.
